Hi, I'm Cherie.

Cherie Rebar

Thanks for clicking to learn about me! My background as a K-12 teacher, coupled with my practice as a

registered nurse, prepared me well for my role as a nurse educator. I love working with expert clinicians who

want to become expert faculty members, and sharing the journey of education with students who are our next

generation of caring, competent, collaborative new nurses.

I began my education in the heart of the Bluegrass state by earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Morehead State University, followed by an associate degree in nursing from Kettering College. My MSN and MBA are from University of Phoenix, and I hold a post-masters certificate in Family Nurse Practitioner studies from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a post-masters certificate in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner studies from the University of Cincinnati. My PhD, earned at Northcentral University, is in psychology and health behaviors.

My clinical practice include emergency, medical-surgical, community, and psychiatric-mental health nursing. I have served in numerous nursing education leadership and faculty positions, including Director of Nursing and Chair of Prelicensure Nursing Programs. I’m an Educational Strategist and Vice President of Connect:RN2ED, and a Professor of Nursing at Wittenberg University who also enjoys adjunct teaching at Mercy College of Ohio and Indiana Wesleyan University.

As a recognized author and editor of nursing education textbooks and resources, a subject matter expert for nursing publications, and a national speaker at nursing education conferences, one of my greatest joys has been awarded by faculty colleagues with the “Faculty Excellence Award”. I am a member of Sigma Theta Tau, the National League for Nursing, the American Nurses Association, the Ohio Nurses Association, the Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

My favorites roles are that of wife, mother, and friend. In my free time, you will find me at the beach, practicing amateur photography, cooking, and hanging out with my basset hound, Flash.
